in searching for information on my Atlas i came across your blog. it's great! your blog has actually been the only source of info i could find!
the guitar was bought as a gift and given to my father by my mother well before i was born. it was purchased in New York for 100 dollars in 1978 or 1979. i have been playing it myself now for 15 years.
earlier this year i actually recorded an entire instumental guitar album solely on this Atlas classical guitar. although it has some dings and scratches, it still has a great sound!
the only print on the entire guitar is on the label which reads: Atlas model no. G-316 #33954 Hicksville, New York 11801. there is nothing on the headstock. the dimensions are: length-39 1/2", depth-4", lower bout-14 1/2", upper bout-11 1/2".
